                         (com temperatura de topo das nuvens chegando a 70°C negativo) e 
                         altos {\'{\i}}ndices pluviom{\'e}tricos (situa{\c{c}}{\~a}o 
                         bastante at{\'{\i}}pica para essa {\'e}poca do ano) que 
                         acarretaram em alagamentos, os quais foram respons{\'a}veis por 
                         preju{\'{\i}}zos {\`a} sociedade em geral no Estado de Alagoas. 
                         As previs{\~o}es de at{\'e} 24 h de anteced{\^e}ncia do modelo 
                         Global Forecast System (GFS) representaram os principais campos de 
                         circula{\c{c}}{\~a}o atmosf{\'e}rica associada ao DOL. 
                         ABSTRACT: An Easterly Wave (EW) occurred between 5 and 6 March 
                         2012 in Eastern Northeast Brazil (ENE). This system provided 
                         weather conditions for the development of convective clouds (with 
                         temperatures of cloud tops reaching 70°C negative) and high 
                         pluviometric index (rather atypical situation for this time of 
                         year) that resulted in flooding, which were responsible for losses 
                         to all society in the state of Alagoas. The 24 hours forecast in 
                         advance of the Global Forecast System (GFS) model represented the 
                         main fields of atmospheric circulation associated with the EW.",
